HOW TO MOUNT PASTEL PAPER

Sanded papers like UART are produced on rolls and have a tendency to curl up at the edges over time. It’s definitely no fun to fight those curls while you’re trying to paint, not to mention the problem of buckling the paper during washes!

You can mount pastel paper to 3/16" gator board right in your studio without the use of an expensive dry mount press! Mounting your pastel paper to gator board or museum board adds excellent stability and ease of use during painting. Additionally, it accepts wet underpaintings without buckling, and makes framing an absolute breeze.
